![]() ![]() Here's my list of to-do and speculative ideas. Summary: perhaps EAI could use some tinkering, repairs, or a refactoring or redesign from scratch. freewrl doesn't have a completed native-code (C/C++) external SAI, although someone started one (src/SAI_cpp) freewrl has a Java SAI which communicates over the EAI. Script node javascript is slightly different in a few places because it assumes it is synchronous with the display thread, so doesn't worry about threading issues, locking etc #FREEWRL ZOOM CODE#* someone recently did a different Script-node javascript SAI - using 'lazy virtual proxies' the advantage being the script api code is fairly shallow, and some insights from that may apply to EAI and external SAI. * some were experimenting with broadcast protocols that have no acknowledge, and that may have obfuscated the simpler tcp/ip code A simpler design would be to do the callback over a separate port. But that made it awkward for the 'callback' part where freewrl calls into the EAI client application - it took extra threads and queues. I wonder if the EAI would be easier to stream - writing on one end and parsing on the other - if it was in JSON. * Some at are working on a JSON file format (analogous to. I suspect EAI just sends scenery payload, but not browser options?ĮAI - external authoring interface - part of specs for vrml > And I'm guessing another way to do this would be with the EAI - would >possible that code would be more receptive to adding support for runtime >despite it being on my own to-do list for at least a year now. >default 'forking' npapi plugin too i haven't attempted to use that one > believe we have code for a 'native' npapi plugin in addition to the >this would probably help shutter mode if we had that capability too. ![]() >far as I know we don't have a 'fullscreen' mode for the NPAPI plugin >shutter or side-by-side mode would work through the browser. >Analglyph would be no issue to integrate but I don't know how well > Right now, none so far as I know - however we are certainly happy to To test that first, and (b) give y'all a chance to check that this code'sĪnd I'm guessing another way to do this would be with the EAI - would I'd like to add options for shutter or side-by-side mode, but (a) I'd like Returns an error (but there are probably more graceful ways to handle If "value" portion is more than two chars long, NPP_New To the "" or "" tag, it will add "-anaglyph RB" to theĬommand line.
